Current Te Rōpū Māori Constitution

The constutution is the overarching policy that governs the day to day opperations of the association.

Te Rito must refer to the constitution when making decisions, anything that is decided must not breach the rules of the constitution

Planning Strategy

The Te Rito Policy outlines the duties of each individual executive member. It is expected that each executive member does their best to complete what is set out in the policy during their term.

Each executive member must write a report each quarter, reflrcting on the work they have completed during that time

Financial Policy

The financial policy outlines all rules and regulations for expenditure of budgeted funding and how income funds may be used.

Annual Te Rōpū Māori Financial Budgets are presented at every Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the Kaitiaki Pūtea.

Te Rito Hui

The Te Rito Hui are the fortnightly formal meetings for the Te Rito executive.

Each meeting is chaired by the Tumuaki and in their absence it would fall to the Tumuaki Tuarua to chair the hui and all meetings are minuted by the Kaituhi. The purpose of Te Rito Hui is to organise and plan events as well as services that are coming up.

Te Rito Reports

The Te Rito Reports are four individual reports made by each Te Rito member towards the end of each quarter of the year. The purpose of the Te Rito Reports is to hold each member accountable to their relative responsibilities and policy for their roles.

The first three reports are completed during mid-semester one, end of semester one and mid-semester two. These reports are also only presented and passed by Te Rito themselves. The final quarterly report should be a reflection of the entire year and is presented at the Te Rōpū Māori AGM for Māori students of Otago University to determine whether Te Rito members should receive their final honourarium payment.
