OUR SERVICES

 FUNDING

Te Rōpū Māori allocate a part of the yearly budget to support tauira with
academic related costs, extreme circumstances i.e. tangihanga, significant
events and/or kaupapa. Take a look at our ‘Grants Application’ for further details
and grant application form.

EVENTS

We provide a variety of social and recreational events which include events throughout Orientation Week, Te Wiki o te Reo Māori and other significant kaupapa.

TE REO MAORI CLASSES

We also provide various levels of Te Reo Māori Classes, which are also open to the public.

TRM WHARE

Te Rōpū Māori has a common space for tauira Māori on the Dunedin campus.
It’s situated right next to the University, Māori Centre - Te Huka Mātauraka. We
have multiple study spaces, a computer room, tutorial room, kitchen and offices
for our Te Rito members.’

KAPA HAKA

Te Rōpū Māori actively strives to retain tikanga Māori within tertiary education. We organise Kapa Haka practises for tauira and non-tauira to retain the immersion within te ao Māori.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

When needed, academically we are able to provide tauira with relevant information and resources to support them with their studies. Tauira are encouraged to approach our Te Rito members when they may need help.

SOCIAL SPORTS

Te Rōpū Māori organises teams every year to participate in a variety of social team sports. Sports include, netball, basketball, volleyball, and others.
