Field of study: Bachelor of Health Sciences (Māori Health) & Bachelor of Arts (Māori Studies)

GOALS:

  1. To create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment that allows tauira Māori to reach their own potential.
  2. To promote and spread awareness on mental health for tauira Māori.
  3. To do my job to the best of my abilities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  1. Co-ordinate Te Rōpū Māori social sports teams and engage with students regarding schedules for these sports on a weekly basis (or when necessary);
  2. Organise and/or facilitate an inter divisional rōpū sports event each semester;
  3. Organise and facilitate Relay for Life;
  4. Organise events and initiatives to support the welfare of Māori students on campus;
  5. Organise a charity event with support from the Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa and the Tuarua;
  6. Sit on the OUSA Welfare Committee;
  7. Where practical, will work no less than 10 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 hours designated to ‘Office Hours’;
  8. Liaise with Te Rito members regarding events and services provided by Te Rito/Te Rōpū;
  9. Attendance at Te Huinga Tauira is compulsory unless there are extenuating circumstances that are approved through a vote in a Te Rito Hui.
